We travel to Champagne quite often for our wine tours. Usually we spend most of the time out in the vineyards and at the wineries visiting wine producers. But last time I was there I took the time to explore the wine shops that you can find in Reims.
There are not really an awful lot of wine shops in Reims and some of them are not really very interesting. But there are a few that I can certainly recommend, that have a good selection and that are not tourist traps.

The best place to buy champagne when you are in Champagne is of course at the producers’. And preferably at the small independent growers who typically make more exciting and individual champagnes than the internationally well-known big-and-famous brands. Curiously, in many wine districts it is not so easy to find good wine shops. This is true also in Champagne. Often, the shops in the best locations are filled with less than exciting mass-market wines. In Reims that is pretty much the case to.
