The pleasure of book shops and organic wines

Every time I go past a bookshop I pop into the shop to see if they have one of our books on the shelf. We’ve done nine wine books by now, nine published in Swedish and only one of them published in English.

So it works well in Sweden where there’s usually one or two of our books on the shelf. But here in France it doesn’t really work. None of our books has been published in French… (Yet, says the hopeful.)

When Britt was in Burgundy recently she did the same thing. In Beaune, the “capital” of Burgundy, there is the legendary bookshop with the impossible name Athenaeum. And YES! They had one of our books on the shelf! On top of it, placed next to a book by none less than François Bouchet.

It was of course the English edition of Biodynamic, Organic and Natural Winemaking. One can, after all, not expect them to have Swedish books on their shelves.

It makes you proud and happy to see your own book on the shelf in that kind of shop. Now we are only hoping for more foreign language editions of our books!

If you have not yet read it, I can warmly recommend it! :-)
