Winter is wine fair time. It is busy times if you want to explore all the wine shows. The Loire Valley Wine Fair takes place on February 1-3, 2016 at the Exhibition Centre in Angers. Or if you prefer Le Salon des Vins de Loire at the Parc des Expositions in Angers. You can easily get to Angers from Paris with the high speed TGV train.
This is probably the best chance ever to discover a wide range of Loire wines and wine producers. They will have some 400 exhibitors from all regions and appellations along the Loire, from Pouilly sur Loire to Muscadet. They will have work-shops, tastings, master-classes and conferences. You will also have the opportunity to taste the latest vintage, before it is released.
It is of course a trade only fair so you will not have to fight with the (over) enthusiastic consumers. It is an excellent opportunity to get to grips with the Loire Valley wines, some of which are certainly among France’s most undervalued and underappreciated wines.
