The purchase is now said to have been officially approved and confirmed: For the first time a Chinese buyer has acquired a classed growth chateau in Saint Emilion. It is far from the first chateau to land in Chinese hands but it has never before been a case of such a prestigious name. It is the Chateau Bellefont Belcier that is the subject of the transaction.
