131.600 euro/ha in AOP, 12.100 euro/ha outside
At the SAFER press conference in late May, it was announced that the average price in France of vineyard land with AOP status in 2013 was 131.600 euros per hectare. This was virtually the same as in 2012. However, it has become almost 11% more expensive to buy land in Cognac. But despite that, you will still get one hectare of vineyards in Cognac for “only” 39.000 euros on average. Vineyards without AOP (AOC) status cost on average 12.100 euros per hectare, an increase of 1.7%.
SAFER is an agency linked to the French Ministries of Agriculture and Finance. Read more: safer.fr
