Jag ingick i juryn, de som provade och bed\u00f6mde vinerna, 2022. Under de fem provdagarna provade &#8221;min&#8221; provningspanel (en av flera) n\u00e4stan trehundra viner. H\u00e4r \u00e4r vad du kan f\u00f6rv\u00e4nta dig av dem och ett urval av n\u00e5gra av de b\u00e4sta som vi smakade.<\/strong><\/p><p>Vint\u00e4vlingar \u00e4r m\u00e4rkliga evenemang. En utvald grupp m\u00e4nniskor smakar p\u00e5 ett stort antal viner under en kort tidsperiod. I vissa t\u00e4vlingar diskuterar man och &#8221;kommer \u00f6verens&#8221; (mer eller mindre), i andra noterar man bara dina personliga po\u00e4ng som sedan kombineras till ett genomsnitt med de andra provarnas. Vissa t\u00e4vlingar \u00e4r &#8221;halvblinda&#8221;, man vet mer eller mindre vad man provar (t.ex. vit bourgogne under 15 euro) \u00e4ven om namnet p\u00e5 vinet och producenten \u00e4r hemligt. De fungerar b\u00e4ttre n\u00e4r man vill bed\u00f6ma vinets kvalitet. I halvblinda provningar tenderar m\u00e4nniskor att utv\u00e4rdera vinernas &#8221;typicitet&#8221;, typiskhet, snarare \u00e4n kvaliteten; de t\u00e4nker &#8221;\u00e4r det s\u00e5 h\u00e4r det <em>ska<\/em> smaka?&#8221; snarare \u00e4n &#8221;\u00e4r det h\u00e4r bra?&#8221;. Michelangelo-provningarna var n\u00e4stan blinda. Vi k\u00e4nde till druvsorten, men jag f\u00f6redrog att strunta i det och bara prova vinerna som om de vore helt ok\u00e4nda. \u00c5terigen, po\u00e4ngen f\u00f6r mig \u00e4r inte att bed\u00f6ma &#8221;smakar det som syrah <em>borde<\/em> smaka?&#8221;, utan att bed\u00f6ma vinets inneboende egenskaper &#8221;\u00e4r det bra?&#8221;<\/p><p>\u00c4ven om det \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt personligt att prova vin och betygs\u00e4tta dem, tenderar domarna i panelerna i de flesta fall att vara ungef\u00e4r \u00f6verens, men inte alltid. Det kan vara ett misstag. En pinot fr\u00e5n Washington skiljer sig mycket fr\u00e5n en fr\u00e5n Bourgogne. Centrala Otago i Nya Zeeland \u00e4r \u00e4nnu en stor pinotregion med sin egen specifika stil. En g\u00e5ng hade vi ett fr\u00e5n Patagonien som var ett av de mest kraftfulla viner vi har haft, inte alls i pinotstil.<\/p><p>Att druvsorten inte alltid \u00e4r en bra indikator p\u00e5 stil understr\u00f6ks vid Michelangelo Wine Awards-provningen i Sydafrika <a href=\"https:\/\/maiwsa.co.za\/judges\/judges-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">d\u00e4r jag allts\u00e5 var en av domarna<\/a>. (Vad jag vet \u00e4r jag den ende svenska provaren som n\u00e5gonsin d\u00f6mt i Michelangelo.) Viner fr\u00e5n olika l\u00e4nder och regioner har ofta sin egen specifika stil, \u00e4ven om de kommer fr\u00e5n druvsorter som man kanske tror sig k\u00e4nna till.<\/p><p>H\u00e4r \u00e4r en genomg\u00e5ng av n\u00e5gra av de stilar som du kan f\u00f6rv\u00e4nta dig fr\u00e5n Sydafrika och n\u00e5gra fantastiska viner att leta efter utvalda ur Michelangelo-provningen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section Mousserande vin. Sydafrika g\u00f6r ganska mycket mousserande vin, och av mycket bra kvalitet. H\u00e4r heter det &#8221;M\u00e9thode Cap Classique&#8221;, &#8221;Cap Classique&#8221; f\u00f6r kort, eller ibland helt enkelt MCC, om den g\u00f6rs med den traditionella metoden med en andra j\u00e4sning p\u00e5 flaskan.<\/p><p>Man tenderar att j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra alla mousserande viner med champagne, vilket p\u00e5 s\u00e4tt och vis \u00e4r ett misstag, kvalitet i vin \u00e4r alltid en fr\u00e5ga om personliga preferenser, men f\u00f6r referensens skull g\u00f6r jag det h\u00e4r ocks\u00e5. De flesta har en uppfattning om champagnes stil.<\/p><p>Sydafrikanska MCC \u00e4r ofta fylligare och fruktigare \u00e4n champagne. Om champagne kan vara mycket stram och n\u00e4stan k\u00e4rv, s\u00e5 tenderar MCC att vara fylligare, med mer mogen frukt och ibland mer aromatisk, citrus, blommor. Ibland kan de vara n\u00e4stan r\u00f6kiga med mogna \u00e4pplen. Ikonvinerna h\u00e4r \u00e4r fr\u00e5n Bourgogne i Frankrike. De \u00e4r ofta relativt ljusa i f\u00e4rgen med h\u00f6g syra och gott om r\u00f6da frukter (k\u00f6rsb\u00e4r, jordgubbar&#8230;), ofta med en god dos av ekfatslagring. De kan ha toner av mycket mogna frukter och skogsmarker. Amerikanska versioner tenderar att vara t\u00e4tare och med mer mogen frukt. v\u00e4rlden \u00f6ver, mer planterad \u00e4n pinot noir, 190 000 ha j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 115 000 ha. De tv\u00e5 stora producentl\u00e4nderna \u00e4r Frankrike och Australien, d\u00e4r den ofta kallas shiraz. Urtypen f\u00f6r syrah \u00e4r ofta de mycket s\u00e4rpr\u00e4glade vinerna fr\u00e5n norra Rh\u00f4nedalen. De \u00e4r t\u00e4ta, m\u00f6rka och koncentrerade.
