Domaine Réméjeanne, Sabran (Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages) - Remy Klein (owner and wine maker) never ceases to experiment in his search for the ultimate expression of terroir in the wine. He has shown many times that southern Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Villages can produce outstanding wines.

Remy Klein, owner/winemaker Remy gladly shows off his wine making vats, some of which are of an interesting construction... ...They have removable tops and there is a mechanical "foot" that can be moved over the vats ... ...and pushed down hydraulically to do the 'pigeage' - "the first vintage I had it I was so happy with it so I almost did too much pigeage"... Ever inch of space is used for wine making

When we visited there was a photo exhibition in the cuverie A look inside a concrete wine fermentation vat: first the opening... ...and then a look inside: you can see the cooling curtain and the paint (or epoxy) that covers the insides   Remy has a small barrel cellar where some of his wine is also fermenting

An interesting device in the cellar: the wine barrels are on wheels so you can turn them around. Gives a similar effect to 'batonnage' (stirring of the lees with a stick so that it mixes with the wine)   Remy Klein with his son
