Rhône: Hermitage, the twin towns Tain l'Hermitage and Tournon

   Tain l'Hermitage and Tournon
Tain (for short) is undoubtedly the centre of the Hermitage wines and the appellation but just across the river Rhone, a short walk over the pedestrian bridge, is the city of Tournon. Tournon is maybe less known for the wines but it is well worth a visit. It has retained more of an old almost Medieval character and has several nice cafes along the main square. In both towns you can taste the wines and buy them in wine shops specialiest on passing tourists. Some do have good selections of local wines.
