Chateau Roubine, Cote de Provence
Valerie and Philippe Riboud bought Chateau Roubine 1994. The wine estate is
magnificently located between Draguignan and Lorgues. From the terrace of the
winery you can see all 75 hectares of the vineyard and the chateau itself. They
use 13 different grape varieties to make their wine. It can bring some added
complexity to the wine but it is also a safeguard against years when some grapes
don't quite make it to the top quality. As for all wine producers in Provence,
the rose wine is important at Chateau Roubine. It accounts for 45% of the wine
production and keeps a high quality. They also make very respectable red wines
and white wines.
