is a very thin layer of topsoil before the rock starts |
In the
vineyards you find these "ditches", a bit less than a meter wide and a
bit more than 1m deep. They are there to drain of the water from the
torrential rains. But they are also a great danger to the vineyard
workers, should they accidentally fall into one |
