Viña Millaman and Olive Oil Terramater in Región del Maule, Chile

   Viña Millaman /Terramater

Millaman means the golden condor – as you often see these birds flying over the estate which consists of 200 hectares of vineyards in the Curicó valley. Their oldest Malbec vines are over 60 years old. The Malbec grape is considered the favourite at Millaman and they also make a very good Zinfandel, a rare grape so far in Chile. Under the name of Terramater, the estate sells their high quality olive oil.

The old olive oil press, no longer in use The modern olive press, Pieralisi from Italy Freshly pressed olive oil. It has very low acidity, only 0.2 g/l (0.8 is permitted to be called Extra Virgin) Millaman is one of the few producers of Zinfandel in Chile. This is the Millaman Estate Zinfandel Central Valley Reserva 2002 Ximena Casanueva, winemaker at Millaman
